Xinhua News Agency, Wuhan, December 27 ( Lai Shoulin Hao ) On December 27, the " Hubei Wuhan - Vietnam Hanoi Citrus Train" started from Wuhan Central Station of the Central Railway Union to Hanoi, Vietnam, marking the official opening of the " Hubei Wuhan - Vietnam Hanoi Cross - border Train".
The train is a cross-international railway cold chain transport train operated by Guangxi Zhenyang Logistics Company and Hubei Hanou International Company, which can directly transport products from Wuhan to Hanoi, Vietnam, via Pingxiang, Guangxi.
Previously, most of the goods exported from Hubei province to Vietnam were transported by container trucks to Shenzhen and then transported by sea to Hanoi. The opening of this special train provided a new supply chain solution. The comprehensive transportation cost was 30 % lower than the cross-border road transportation price and 50 % lower than the water transportation time.
The Guangxi Department of Commerce said that the opening of the special train opened up a " fast export channel" for characteristic agricultural products in China's inland provinces, and could effectively meet the demand for temperate fruits and daily necessities in Vietnam.
In addition, this special train has realized the whole " cold chain transportation" of agricultural products, reduced the loss of goods in transit, lowered the transportation cost and raised farmers' income.
